Land of the Grey Giants

Founded in 1931, Addo Elephant Park now protects over 600 elephants, making it one of South Africa’s most important national parks.

Thanks to several expansions, it is now the country’s third-largest national park.

During an exciting game drive, you may be lucky enough to spot large elephant herds at waterholes, as well as antelope, buffalo, and even lions.

The focus here is clearly on the majestic elephants – an unforgettable experience for wildlife lovers and nature enthusiasts.

🦁 Schotia Game Reserve

True Safari in an Open Vehicle

Located right next to Addo, the private Schotia Game Reserve is one of the oldest reserves in the Eastern Cape.

Its compact size allows for excellent wildlife sightings in a smaller area.
Aboard an open safari jeep, you’ll explore the rich wildlife with a knowledgeable ranger:
Lions, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, buffalo, zebras, and many antelope species roam this reserve.

Schotia is especially famous as the first reserve in the Cape Province to host free-roaming lions – chances of seeing them up close are very high.

🗓️ Tour Itinerary

• 08:00 AM: Departure towards Addo Elephant National Park (approx. 1 hour transfer)
• Morning: Game drive in Addo (in open safari vehicle)
• Lunch break: Light snack at a picnic site in the park
• Afternoon: Transfer to Schotia Game Reserve & welcome drink
• 3:00 PM: Start of game drive in open safari vehicles
• Safari (approx. 3.5 hrs): Including refreshment break & toilet stop
• Dinner: Traditional South African meal at a Lapa, prepared over open fire
• Spotlight Night Safari: Return to reception with spotlights to observe nocturnal animals
• Transfer back to the ship/hotel (approx. arrival at 8:45 PM)
