Your tour is scheduled according to your cruise ship’s arrival time. We will pick you up from the cruise port at approximately 8:30 AM.

Discover the Untamed Beauty of Southern Réunion

This excursion allows you to explore some of the most beautiful viewpoints and natural highlights along Réunion’s 250-kilometre coastline.

We begin our journey from the port towards Le Souffleur, a fascinating geological phenomenon and one of the island’s most impressive natural curiosities.

Here, powerful waves force seawater through volcanic rock formations, creating spectacular sprays that can rise several metres into the air. This unique phenomenon is a result of the volcanic nature of the coastline between Saint-Leu and Étang-Salé.

We continue towards Le Gouffre of Étang-Salé, a remarkable natural rock corridor shaped by the constant power of the ocean.

The Wild Coast – Where Volcanoes Meet the Ocean

Following the rugged coastline, you will discover a landscape of ever-changing beauty. For centuries, the ocean and the volcanic cliffs of the wild coast have created a dramatic battle between land and sea.

The tropical vegetation covering the southern coast is nourished by abundant rainfall, creating a lush and vibrant environment. Ancient primary forests surround the foothills of the island’s volcanic peaks.

One of the highlights of this dramatic scenery is Cap Méchant, where towering black lava cliffs have been shaped and eroded by the powerful forces of the Indian Ocean.

The Volcanic Landscapes of Tremblet

After lunch, we continue towards the Tremblet area, where you can admire the traces of some of Réunion’s most recent volcanic eruptions on the way to Sainte-Rose.

Here, you are truly at the heart of nature’s spectacle. Few places in the world offer such a fascinating contrast—where landscapes born from fire exist so close to tropical paradise.

These extraordinary scenes are difficult to describe: unique landscapes that reveal the powerful forces that shaped our planet.

To witness them is a truly special experience.

Anse des Cascades & Sainte-Rose

Our journey continues to Anse des Cascades, a beautiful coastal location featuring a centuries-old palm plantation, a small harbour, lush tropical vegetation, and numerous waterfalls flowing down the mountainside.

We then travel towards Sainte-Rose, home to the famous Notre-Dame des Laves Chapel, which miraculously survived the 1977 lava flow that surrounded it.

Our final stop is the Saint-Anne Church, the only fully restored Baroque church on the island, renowned for its beautifully decorated exterior.

In the late afternoon, we return comfortably to your cruise ship.

Please note that the La Rivière de l’Est suspension bridge is currently under construction, and we do not yet know when the work will be completed. Therefore, this stop cannot be guaranteed.
