Hike from Serra to Principal

This hike crosses the Serra da Malagueta national park and the scenic Principal valley. Indeed, it is a nature adventure through one of the finest landscapes on Santiago. Moreover, you discover endemic plant species that grow only on the Cape Verde islands.

Through the Serra da Malagueta

The walk covers about five kilometres and takes roughly three hours. You descend some 500 metres, with barely any ascent, which makes it moderate rather than demanding. Your experienced guide points out the endemic plants that make this park special. Above all, the path opens onto sweeping views of the green Principal valley below.
