The Two Coasts of Barbados

Barbados has two very different shores. Indeed, the western Caribbean side is calm and sheltered, with clear turquoise water and gentle sand. The eastern Atlantic coast, by contrast, is wild and windswept, with heavy surf breaking on rocky headlands. Moreover, the interior between them is green and hilly, dotted with sugar cane fields and old plantation houses. As a result, a single day here shows several quite different landscapes.
