La Esperanza & Teide National Park

This tour climbs to the Teide through the pine forest of La Esperanza. Indeed, the route along the ridge is one of the finest drives on the island. Moreover, it approaches the volcano gradually rather than by the direct road.

Through the Pine Forest to the Volcano

The road runs along the spine of the island through dense Canary pine, a tree so well adapted to fire that it regrows from a blackened trunk. Viewpoints along the ridge look down on both coasts at once. Afterwards, the forest thins and the landscape turns to lava, pumice and bare rock inside the national park. Above all, the crater rim with the peak behind it is unforgettable.
