The day opens with a traditional Barong and Kris dance at Batubulan, which portrays the eternal struggle between good and evil. Afterwards, the artist villages around Ubud show Balinese craftsmanship, from batik painting to silver and woodwork. Then the road climbs into the highlands to Kintamani, where Mount Batur and its crater lake fill the view. Above all, the terraced rice fields along the way are among the finest on the island.
