Teide & the North in One Day

Two Climates in One Day

Tenerife is split down the middle by its central ridge, and the two halves have quite different weather. Indeed, the trade winds pile cloud against the northern slopes, which keeps them green and damp for much of the year. In contrast, the south lies in the rain shadow and stays dry and sunny. Above all, the mountain road crosses the boundary in a matter of minutes, so you can leave sunshine behind and drive into mist, then break out above the cloud into brilliant light.
