Join Bakadi Dreams on a beautiful boat tour for whale watching and dolphin spotting, with stunning views along Dominica’s west coast.

We will pick you up at 09:00 AM right in front of the cruise terminal with our “Bakadi Dreams” sign.

Dominica is the only country in the world where sperm whales live year-round.
After just a short boat ride, you have the chance to encounter the largest toothed animal on earth.
Our licensed operators follow strict guidelines to minimize disturbance and never lure the whales. To locate them, we use a hydrophone.

On rare occasions when whales are difficult to spot, you will almost certainly witness the playful acrobatics of hundreds of spotted and spinner dolphins.

Dominica’s West Coast

Sperm whales are usually found between Scotts Head and Portsmouth.
While we search for them, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Dominica’s dramatic mountains and charming villages such as Massacre, Mahaut, Jimmit, Warner, Layou, St. Joseph, Mero, Salisbury, Coulibistrie, and Colihaut.

The west coast is also dotted with rivers flowing into the sea, including the Layou River Valley, Dominica’s longest river.

Our Boat

Our brand-new 24-foot open keel boat, powered by two quiet 60 HP 4-stroke engines, allows us to approach the whales without disturbing them.
The boat is ideal for small groups and families, with a maximum of 8 guests.

The tour lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours, ensuring you return to your cruise ship on time.

If the morning tour is fully booked, we also offer an afternoon departure at 1:00 PM.
