Nosy Be
Nosy Be Shore Excursions – The Pearl of the Indian Ocean
Discover Nosy Be on a private shore excursion with Bakadi Dreams – the personal way to explore Madagascar’s most beautiful island. Known as the “Island of Perfumes”, Nosy Be lies off the north-west coast of Madagascar and enchants visitors with dream beaches, turquoise water and the exotic scent of its ylang-ylang plantations.
This tropical island is a highlight of any Indian Ocean cruise. Snorkel over colourful coral reefs, swim with sea turtles, relax on idyllic palm-fringed beaches or venture inland to meet lemurs, visit sacred sites and discover fragrant ylang-ylang plantations. Warm, welcoming people and a wonderfully laid-back island rhythm make every excursion unforgettable.
Because Nosy Be is a tender port, some waiting time of up to an hour may occur when going ashore, and several of our tours use small local boats – all part of the authentic island adventure.
Every Bakadi Dreams excursion runs in a small, private group with a friendly English-speaking guide, at a relaxed pace and with a guaranteed return to your cruise ship in good time.
Why book your Nosy Be excursion with Bakadi Dreams?
- Friendly English-speaking guides

Shore Excursions from Nosy Be
Nosy Be is the sunny island paradise of Madagascar. From this port our private shore excursions reach lemurs, spice plantations and turquoise bays. Moreover, every tour includes a friendly English-speaking guide. Above all, we guarantee a relaxed pace and a punctual return to your cruise ship.
An island of perfume and lemurs
Nosy Be lies off the north-west corner of Madagascar and feels like a different country from the mainland: calmer, greener and scented, quite literally, by the ylang-ylang plantations whose flowers go into the world’s perfume industry. The island is small enough to circle in a day, and the tours here split between the water and the forest.
Lokobe, on the south-eastern shore, is the last remaining patch of primary forest on Nosy Be and is reached by pirogue: black lemurs, chameleons, boa constrictors and tiny frogs, with a guide who spots them long before you do. Offshore, Nosy Iranja is the postcard, two islets joined by a sandbar that appears at low tide, an hour away by speedboat. Snorkelling stops and turtle sightings come with most boat trips.
Nosy Be is a tender port, so waiting to get ashore can take up to an hour, and several of our tours use small local boats. Every Nosy Be excursion is private, with an English-speaking guide and timing built around your ship. Choose your tour below.
