Dolphin & Le Morne Brabant Hike

Your excursion begins directly from the cruise port. Departure time depends on the season; during the summer months, we leave at approximately 4:20 AM.
We start the day with our Early Morning Dolphin Tour, as described on our website, giving you the opportunity to observe wild dolphins in their natural habitat during the peaceful morning hours.
Hike to Le Morne Brabant
After the dolphin tour, we continue to one of the most famous landmarks in Mauritius—Le Morne Brabant.
Rising majestically above the island’s southwest coast like a natural lighthouse, Le Morne Brabant overlooks beautiful white coral-sand beaches and the crystal-clear lagoon below.
Beyond its spectacular scenery, the mountain holds deep historical significance. During the 19th century, many escaped slaves sought refuge on its steep slopes, using the mountain as a place of safety and freedom.
On 1 February 1835, following the abolition of slavery in Mauritius, a police expedition was sent to inform those hiding on the mountain that they were free. Tragically, many misunderstood the arrival of the authorities and, fearing capture, threw themselves from the cliffs.
To honour their memory and commemorate the abolition of slavery, 1 February is observed as a public holiday in Mauritius.
In 2008, Le Morne Brabant was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognising its exceptional cultural and historical importance.
The hike is moderately challenging, but your efforts will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over the southwest coast of Mauritius, its turquoise lagoon, and the surrounding mountain landscape.
After the hike, we will comfortably return you to the cruise port.

For Your Safety
To participate in the dolphin swimming experience, basic snorkelling skills and confidence using a mask and snorkel are required. Unfortunately, due to the tour schedule, we are unable to offer snorkelling lessons before the excursion.
A good level of physical fitness is also essential. Both the dolphin experience and the hike can be physically demanding. If you are not accustomed to this type of activity, there may be health risks. We appreciate your understanding, as these requirements are for your own safety.

- This tour is not suitable for pregnant women.
- A good level of physical fitness is required. Participants should not have recent knee or hip surgery, chronic back problems, or other conditions that could affect their ability to complete the hike safely.
- If you have allergies, medical conditions, or any other health concerns, please let us know when making your booking.
Cancellation Policy
- In case of itinerary changes due to ship rerouting or cyclone conditions, we will reschedule your tour to a new date free of charge.
- If you cancel due to ship rerouting or cyclone conditions, a processing fee of €15 will apply.
- If your ship does not arrive due to weather-related reasons, no costs will be charged to the customer.
Changes and Cancellations
- Changes to your booking are possible up to 6 days before the tour date.
- From 5 days before the tour date, a 50% cancellation fee applies.
- From 48 hours before the tour date, a 100% cancellation fee applies, regardless of the reason, including illness, feeling unwell, or no-show.
- Guests who have not arrived within 15 minutes after the scheduled tour start time will be considered a no-show and charged 100% cancellation fees
