Dolphins & Ile aux Benitiers

Experience an unforgettable sailing adventure with Bakadi Dreams on our Blue Bay – Île aux Cerfs Catamaran Cruise. Sail along the stunning southeast coast of Mauritius from Mahebourg towards Trou d’Eau Douce, surrounded by crystal-clear lagoons and a breathtaking mountain backdrop.

Your driver will meet you at the cruise port exit at 7:45 AM.

From there, you will travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach to Blue Bay in the southeast of Mauritius, where your catamaran awaits.

We set sail from Pointe d’Esny at approximately 9:00 AM and cruise for around 1.5 hours along the beautiful east coast towards Île aux Cerfs.

Grand River South East Waterfall

Our first stop is the picturesque Grand River South East Waterfall.

As the waterfall is located at the mouth of the river, our view depends on the weather and water conditions. Sometimes we can approach quite closely, while at other times we admire it from a greater distance.

For safety reasons, our large catamaran no longer enters the narrow river passage. Heavy boat traffic around the waterfall and the increased risks involved mean that the focus of this excursion is on enjoying a relaxing sailing experience.

With a little luck, you may spot Mauritian flying foxes (fruit bats) and even monkeys in the surrounding trees. One thing is certain—you will enjoy the beautiful waterfall nestled among lush tropical vegetation.

Afterwards, we return to the catamaran and continue sailing towards Île aux Cerfs, where you will have approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to explore.

Take your time to discover the island and venture a little away from the main beach. Just a short walk will lead you to peaceful lagoons, secluded beaches, and quiet corners where you can escape the crowds.

When you return to the catamaran at around 1:00 PM, the crew will have prepared a delicious barbecue lunch. Sit back, relax, and enjoy great food and refreshing drinks while taking in the spectacular surroundings.

After lunch, we sail back towards Mahebourg. If currents and sea conditions permit, we will stop at one of the area’s beautiful snorkelling spots, where you can discover the colourful underwater world of Mauritius.

In the afternoon, we continue sailing through the magnificent lagoon of Pointe d’Esny before returning to shore.

Please note that the itinerary may be adjusted due to weather or sea conditions.

Tour Information:

• Duration: Approximately 6 hours

• Minimum number of participants: 12 adults

If the minimum of 12 participants is not reached, you will automatically be transferred to our East Coast Catamaran Cruise. If you do not wish to join the alternative tour, you may cancel your booking free of charge.

Ile aux Benitiers by Boat

The Ile aux Benitiers is one of the most beautiful spots on Mauritius. On this private boat tour you cruise past dolphins, snorkel over coral and relax on a white sandy islet. Moreover, a friendly English-speaking guide looks after your group. Above all, you return to your cruise ship in good time.
