Croatia shore excursions with Bakadi Dreams
Tell us which ship you are on and how long you have ashore, and we will suggest the Croatia excursion that fits your day.
Private tours in Croatia on request
Croatia gives cruise passengers one of the most rewarding coastlines in the Mediterranean. Ships call at Dubrovnik, where the medieval walls encircle a marble-paved old town you can walk in an afternoon; at Split, built inside the walls of a Roman emperor’s palace; at Zadar and Sibenik, gateways to the Krka and Kornati national parks; and at Rovinj and Pula in Istria, where the Venetian and Roman heritage sits alongside truffle country and family wineries.
We are currently putting together our fixed programme of Croatia shore excursions, and the first tours will appear on this page shortly. In the meantime we already arrange private tours in Croatia on request: an old-town walk with a licensed local guide, a drive along the Peljesac wine road, a boat transfer to the Elaphiti islands, or a day in a national park with the timing built around your ship.
Send us the name of your vessel, the port and the hours you have ashore, and we will come back with a written proposal and a fixed price. As with every Bakadi Dreams excursion, you travel in a small private group with an English-speaking guide and a guaranteed return to the ship in good time.
Good to know before you book
Most Croatian old towns are pedestrian-only and paved with polished limestone, so comfortable shoes matter more than they usually do. Dubrovnik and Split both restrict coach access close to the centre, which is one reason a private car and a walking guide work better than a large group. Summer afternoons are hot and the walls of Dubrovnik offer almost no shade, so early starts are worth the alarm clock. Cash is rarely needed – Croatia uses the euro and cards are accepted almost everywhere – and national park entries can be booked in advance for you.
