Denmark shore excursions with Bakadi Dreams

Tell us which ship you are on and how long you have ashore, and we will suggest the Denmark excursion that fits your day.

Private tours in Denmark on request

Denmark appears on most Baltic and Norwegian fjord itineraries, usually at Copenhagen and increasingly at Aarhus, Skagen and Rønne on Bornholm. Copenhagen rewards a slow day: the Nyhavn quay, the royal palace at Amalienborg, the canal boats, Christiansborg and the Tivoli gardens, with Kronborg Castle at Helsingør and the Louisiana modern art museum both within easy reach up the coast. Aarhus offers the ARoS art museum and the open-air Den Gamle By, and Skagen the meeting point of two seas at Grenen.

Our fixed programme of Denmark shore excursions is still being prepared and the first tours will be published on this page. Until then we are happy to arrange private tours in Denmark on request, with a licensed local guide and a vehicle sized to your party.

Tell us your ship, the port and how long you are alongside, and we will send you a written proposal with a fixed price before you book. As with every Bakadi Dreams excursion, you travel in a small private group, your guide speaks English, and you are back on board in good time for departure.

Good to know before you book

Copenhagen’s cruise terminals at Oceankaj and Langelinie sit at very different distances from the centre, so the transfer time is worth checking before you plan the day. Danish museums and palaces are widely closed on Mondays outside high season. Cards are accepted everywhere and cash is almost never needed. The weather changes quickly even in July, so a light waterproof layer is sensible, and a great deal of the city is best seen on foot or from the water, which is why our guides build in walking and a canal stretch wherever the timing allows.
