Langfoss Waterfall

This tour from Haugesund reaches Langfoss, one of the tallest waterfalls in Norway. Indeed, the water drops 612 metres down the mountainside almost straight into the Akrafjord. Moreover, the drive there is itself part of the experience, following the fjord between steep cliffs.

Along the Akrafjord

The road leaves Haugesund and runs inland along the Akrafjord, with deep water on one side and rock walls on the other. At the waterfall, a viewing area brings you close enough to feel the spray on a windy day. Above all, Langfoss is unusual because it is not dammed, so it runs freely all year. There is time for photographs before the return drive.
