Gamla Stan, the old town, is one of the best preserved medieval centres in Europe, with narrow lanes, the Royal Palace and Riddarholmen church. Beyond it, the green island of Djurgarden holds museums and parkland. Above all, bridges and boats tie the whole city together.
Out into the Archipelago
