His name, short for “Abnormally Big Baby”, reflects his unique story.
Abby was brought to the private reserve as an orphaned calf after his mother was killed by poachers.

Thanks to loving care, he grew into a healthy adult and quickly became a favorite among visitors.

Today, Abby is a proud father of three baby giraffes and lives happily with his family in the reserve.

As soon as he hears the safari vehicle, he approaches curiously, eager for snacks and gentle strokes.

A Journey Through African Wildlife

Abby’s home is a diverse private reserve that shelters many species beyond giraffes.

You’ll see wildebeest, impalas, zebras, blesbok, waterbuck, and nyalas.

Ostriches, emus, and tortoises add to the fascinating wildlife, while a variety of bird species fill the landscape with birdsong.

Tour Itinerary

After your ship has cleared, you’ll meet at the pier and transfer approximately 45 minutes to the private reserve.

There, you’ll hop into open safari vehicles and head out to meet Abby.

An English-speaking ranger will share interesting facts about giraffes and the other animals in the reserve.

The highlight, of course, is your up-close interaction with Abby – feed him, take photos, and enjoy this magical moment.

After your time with Abby, you’ll be taken to the reserve’s restaurant, where you can relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy breathtaking views of the river landscape.

The encounter with Abby and the safari experience take about one hour, with a maximum of ten people per vehicle to ensure a more intimate atmosphere.
