Doha Half-Day Desert Safari

To the Inland Sea

The route heads south from Doha into high dune country, where the driver reduces tyre pressure before taking on the slopes. The Inland Sea

Khor Al Adaid is a tidal inlet that reaches deep into the desert of southern Qatar. Indeed, UNESCO recognises it as a natural reserve, and access is restricted to protect it. What makes it unusual is the meeting of two landscapes that rarely touch: high dunes running directly down into salt water. Moreover, the water level shifts with the tide, so the shoreline changes through the day. Above all, the area is home to flamingos, ospreys and turtles, and the silence away from the vehicles is complete.
