VIP Tour: Taroudant & Tiout Oasis
This private VIP tour takes you inland from Agadir: to the walled town of Taroudant and the green oasis of Tiout. No coach full of strangers, no time pressure – we collect you personally at the port and set off in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Argan Trees and Climbing Goats
On the way to Taroudant we cross the landscape of the south-west with its famous argan trees. Argan oil, the “liquid gold of Morocco”, is pressed from their kernels. With a little luck you will see what the region is known for along the way: goats climbing up into the branches of the argan trees.
Taroudant – “Little Marrakesh”
Taroudant is surrounded by mighty mud walls and has kept its original character. On a relaxed walk through the medina you see craftsmen at work, colourful markets, spice stalls and small shops with regional handicrafts. You set the pace.
Lunch in a Riad
In Tiout a traditional Moroccan lunch awaits you in a comfortable riad – freshly prepared and served at leisure. You should not miss the tagine. The meal is included.
The Oasis of Tiout
After lunch you step into another world: thousands of date palms, baobabs and lush gardens. You learn how the traditional irrigation system works that has kept a green paradise alive in dry country for generations. From the kasbah above the oasis the view stretches far across Tiout – the best spot for photographs.
Back to Agadir – City, Promenade and Sunset
In the afternoon we drive back to Agadir. On a personal city tour you see the finest corners of town, and afterwards there is time for a stroll along the Atlantic promenade. To finish we head up to the old kasbah of Agadir Oufella: from there you look out over the city, the miles of beach, the harbour and the Atlantic – and when the sun goes down, that is the finest moment of the day.
